What alumni students experienced

Listen how our alumni talk about their experience and the value they got from the CGF program

“Before CGF, I felt overwhelmed and unsure about what direction to take. Coaching helped me slow down, think clearly, and take action instead of just stressing about everything.”

Jessica W.
Psychology  BA, 2nd Year, Toronto

“The volunteering part helped me actually practice what I was learning during coaching instead of just thinking about it.”

Ken P.
IT BA, 3rd Year

“I realized I wasn’t lazy or not  good enough; but just overwhelmed with so many expectations. CGF helped me build routines to break down big goals into smaller and less stressful bites.”

Frequently asked questions

Is the program really free?

Yes. Coaching sessions and program participation are offered free of charge through our coaches and community partners.

Do I need to know exactly what I want to work on?

No. Many students join because they feel overwhelmed, stuck, uncertain, or simply want more clarity and direction.

What kind of topics can coaching help with?

Common topics include stress, confidence, motivation, time management, accountability, relationships, leadership, career direction, and personal growth.

How much time does the program require?

Students typically commit about 20–25 hours over 4–6 months, including coaching sessions, volunteering, reflection activities, and short surveys or assignments.

Is coaching the same as therapy?

No. Coaching focuses on goals, growth, reflection, accountability, and action. It is not therapy or crisis support.

Can students under 18 participate?

Yes. Parent or guardian consent is required before participation can begin.

What are the next steps if I’m interested?

Start by completing the short interest form. If the program feels like a good fit, you’ll be invited to join a short group information session to learn more, ask questions, and understand the expectations and next steps before onboarding.
